Establishment, evaluation and implementation of multidisciplinary long-term aftercare for adult survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer
You are here:
Thanks to improved therapies, the long-term survival rates of childhood and adolescent cancer patients have improved significantly over the last few decades. However, oncological treatment can still lead to long-term effects many years after the end of therapy, resulting in high morbidity and reduced quality of life for cancer survivors.
The Germany-wide prospective, multicenter aftercare study "Establishment, evaluation and implementation of multidisciplinary long-term aftercare for adult survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer", will collect comprehensive data regarding the health situation of former oncological patients. This novel study involves eight university centers (including the Charité); and will be the first of its kind to directly implement findings aimed at improving aftercare structures in Germany.
