FeCt, longitudinal study 2011
With our preceding studies we detected, how many former childhood cancer patients were affected by fertility impairment and what kind of risk factors correlate with the impairment.
Aim of the longitudinal study is, to explore the time-lag of fertility impairment to therapy, if there is a possible recovery of the impairment and if so, to which extent. In our Berlin pilot study we will examine in retrospect the development of criteria for fertility over ten years of former childhood cancer patients with brain tumour or allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Subsequently this investigation shall be extended in a multi-centre, international study.
