In the department children and adolescents with cancer or other, non malicious deseases of the blood-forming system, are treated. The clinic consists of three institutions: ward 30i for inpatient treatment, ward 39i for hematopoietic stem cell tranplantations, the Carreras Day Clinic for parttime inpatient treatment and an outpatient clinic for ambulatory treatment and aftercare. Establishment of the Carreras Day Clinic was made possible by a grant from the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation in 1998.
